Posted to the Enlightenment Google Plus page is a screenshot with a caption that reads "And EFL's Evas canvas library draws it's first Rectangle in Wayland !!"
Evas is the canvas rendering and display management library for E17. It's already been made to work on DirectFB in the past and uses OpenGL for accelerated rendering. Evas on Wayland will likely be of great interest to the embedded folks since the library is very fit and flexible.
Below is the E17 Evas screenshot under Wayland provided by the Enlightenment camp. They obviously still have a ways to go, but there's progress being made.
Meanwhile for other desktop users, the GTK+ Wayland port is still considered experimental and the Qt support for Wayland should be in pretty good shape when Qt 5.0 is released in 2012. There's also still work pending on making the KWin compositing window manager compliant with Wayland.
Wayland will be talked about at FOSDEM in February.
