LXC 2.1 is now available as the latest version of Linux Containers for OS-level virtualization in allowing multiple Linux containers to run simultaneously off the mainline Linux kernel.

LXC 2.1 brings support for resource limits, support for unprivileged OpenVSwitch networks, support for a hybrid cgroup layout, deprecation of lxc-monitord, lxc-copy to create snapshots on tmpfs, and a variety of other changes.

Fans of Linux Containers can learn more about the LXC 2.1 release via LinuxContainers.org. This is not an LTS release and thus will be supported for just a one-year period.
