KDE developers have been putting the finishing touches on the Plasma 6.2 desktop as it prepares to release next week. Plasma 6.2 will be out on Tuesday barring any last minute issues.

KDE developer Nate Graham is out with his weekly KDE status update to highlight interesting work that happens in the KDE space. Besides preparing for the release of Plasma 6.2 on 8 October, KDE developers have also been busy on more feature work for Plasma 6.3:

- The number of apps shown on the Discover homepage can now be configured by distributions.

- Discover will now only show the total size of available updates once its finished checking for updates, rather than initially showing an incomplete and inaccurate download size.

- Meanwhile Plasma 6.2 will fix the most common Plasma crash on X11 that would often occur when waking up a sleeping monitor.

- Plasma 6.2 will also fix several other KWin crashes.

- Plasma 6.2.1 will ensure that pointer acceleration in XWayland games with screen scaling is the same as for native Wayland apps.
