WAYLAND
Hyprland 0.43 is out as the newest version of this independent, very customizable Wayland compositor focused on providing a dynamic tiling experience.

Hyprland 0.43 brings animation improvements, a number of new configuration tunables, an option to control the behavior of which window to focus on following close, an option for toggling XWayland support, and a number of other small additions. There are also a number of fixes of varying impact with this Hyprland compositor update.

Hyprland 0.43 does up its build requirements to already requiring a C++26 compiler... Meaning GCC 14+ and LLVM Clang 18+, which is rather aggressive and requires either an up-to-date toolchain on your existing Linux distribution or be riding a very leading-edge Linux distribution. Not to mention that C++26 isn't formally released yet.
