AMDGPU's xf86-video-amdgpu vs. Mode-Setting DDX Performance
Additionally with this xf86-video-amdgpu vs. xf86-video-modesetting comparison I also did a second run of the AMDGPU DDX when enabling DRI3 rendering compared to DRI2 by default. Tests were done with a Radeon R9 Fury on Linux 4.5 with Mesa 11.2-devel. xf86-video-amdgpu 1.0.99 Git and xf86-video-modesetting 1.17.2 were the DDX drivers used.
Long story short, at least for this setup with the R9 Fury, the performance was nearly the same with the DDX driver not impacting the OpenGL performance.
