It was more than one year ago that VirtualBox 5.1 was released while today it's finally been succeeded by a new feature release.

The prominent additions to Oracle VM VirtualBox 5.2 include:

- The ability to export virtual machines to the Oracle Public Cloud... In an effort to boost Oracle Cloud, it's now very easy going from your local VMs and sending it up into their public cloud.

- Unattended guest OS installation support is finally baked in well for VirtualBox. Similar to VMWare's "Easy Install" and addressing a VirtualBox feature request since 2009, unattended guest OS installations should now be working well for supported platforms.

- The virtual machine selector GUI has received a variety of improvements.

- Experimental audio support for video recording with VirtualBox.

VirtualBox 5.2 also has asynchronous data processing in separate threads for its HDA audio emulation, audio input/output can now be toggled dynamically, many GUI improvements, initial work on redesigning VirtualBox's I/O stack, and a variety of other fixes.

VirtualBox 5.2 can be downloaded for free from VirtualBox.org.
