Systemd 248 has many changes including the new notion of "system extension images", a new "veritytab" configuration file, support for unlocking LUKS2 volumes using TPM2 hardware or FIDO2 keys, a new "systemd-cryptenroll" tool, network improvements, the out-of-memory daemon (systemd-oomd) is now more mature, and other changes.
More details and downloads of 248-RC3 is available via systemd on GitHub. There is also the work-in-progress NEWS file outlining more of the pending systemd 248 changes.
