Vulkan Support Isn't Yet Ready For Mainline Mir

While Mir developers have demoed early support for Vulkan, it doesn't look like it's a high priority item or a lack of manpower is crippling the Vulkan support from passing the finish line.
There's been this Launchpad bug report about Vulkan support for Mir. Back in February that bug was assigned as a work item for Mir 0.20, but then pushed back to Mir 0.21, last month was pushed back to Mir 0.22, and then a few days ago the Vulkan support was re-targeted for the Mir 0.23 milestone.
The latest comment on that bug report is from February and said, "We don't have a specific target. We have most of the plumbing either landed or MP'ed already. As soon as final set of MPs land, the Vulkan effort can be started and should take weeks not months." But it's looking now like it will indeed be months before seeing the Vulkan API properly running on Ubuntu's next-generation display server.
