Nouveau Driver Gets Multi-Screen Reverse Optimus
The xf86-video-nouveau 1.0.9 driver has fixes for a DRI2 check, linking against the DRM library (libdrm), a big-endian machine fix, fixing make distcheck, and a fix for crashing when Xinerma is in use. New work includes support for multi-screen reverse Optimus, faster YV12 to NV12 conversion with X-Video using SSE2, and EXA/X-Video support for NVF0.
The Nouveau multi-screen reverse Optimus support is for having multiple outputs on a NVIDIA GPU powered up while an Intel GPU is doing the rendering. The Nouveau NVF0 support is for the NVIDIA GK110 GPU and what's found in the GeForce GTX TITAN and GTX 780. Besides needing the new Nouveau DDX for the EXA 2D and X-Video support, you will also need Mesa 9.2-devel and the latest Linux kernel code for support of this newest NVIDIA high-end GPU.
The latest Nouveau DDX driver code can be fetched from the xf86-video-nouveau Git repository.
