MythTV 0.25 Is Finally Released With Many Changes

This is the first major update to MythTV in the better part of two years since the release of MythTV 0.24. Back in 2010 we were already writing about some of the invasive changes for the 0.25 release like the X-Video and OpenGL changes.
In January of this year I then noted v0.25 development had really dragged on and then in March word finally hit that MythTV 0.25 would finally hit in April.
MythTV 0.25 is now out this morning, so what's new to play with? Per the release announcement, there's been more than 5,200 commits making up this new release. Among the new features are VA-API video acceleration (Intel's common GPU-based video acceleration means), DXVA2 acceleration (Microsoft's DirectX Video Acceleration 2), expanded and improved audio capabilities (E-AC3 / TrueHD / DTS-HD), HDMI CEC support, improved meta-data management support, a complete API for third-party apps, a rewritten MythMusic, and much more.
