Etnaviv DRM maintainer Lucas Stach sent in the Etnaviv DRM driver improvements for targeting Linux 4.6 in bettering this reverse-engineered graphics support for the Vinvate graphics IP cores. Improved for Linux 4.6 with Etnaviv is correctness fixes to the GPU cache flushing, reduction of time spent in the hardirq-off context, and placement improvements in the GPU DMA linear window. The placement improvements should allow this open-source driver to work properly on Freescale i.MX6 systems with more than 2GB of RAM.
More details on the Etnaviv improvements queued up for Linux 4.6 via DRM-Next can be found via this Git pull.
