Google Reveals Early Details About Android 7.1

Google has begun sharing early details about the forthcoming Android 7.1 Nougat update.

Android 7.1 is slated to provide Daydream VR support, A/B system updates, app shortcuts, and image keyboard support. Later in October will be the first public developer preview release of Android 7.1.

The app shortcuts API will allow developers to provide surface key actions directly from the launcher, there will also be circular app icons support, while the image keyboard support is more user-facing and allows for expanding the types of contents that users can submit from their keyboard, including custom stickers, animated GIFs, and other media. The Android 7.1 update also adds API support for multi-endpoint calling.
