A Google Chromium engineer has interestingly provided patches for Qualcomm Adreno 430 display support within Freedreno's MSM DRM driver.

Interest around Freedreno, the community-based, originally reverse-engineered Linux graphics driver for Qualcomm Adreno graphics hardware continues to ramp up. It's even become that Qualcomm's QuiC has begun contributing to the project.

Last month a Google developer added Adreno 430 to the Freedreno Gallium3D driver while today he has provided patches for the kernel-side support within the Freedreno MSM code.

There is now support for the Adreno 430 as well as basic power management. This MSM DRM support for the Adreno 430 will presumably land for the Linux 4.6 kernel.

The Adreno 430 was released last year and is found in the Snapdragon 810 SoC. The Adreno 430 is found in devices like the OnePlus 2, HTC One, LG G Flex2, and Sony Xperia Z5, among others.
