Logisys 4801: Spending Just $50 On A 4U Server Chassis

The dimensions on this 4U server chassis are 7 x 17.5 x 17.75 inches and its weight is 22 pounds.

This case can handle standard ATX power supplies as well as most PCI Express graphics cards out there.

As with most (all?) low-cost server cases out there, the Logisys 4801 doesn't include any mounting rails. Another small disappointment is the lack of any fan filters on the intake fan.

After buying the first batch of Logisys 4801 4U server cases and building them out, I was happy with the outcome and the quality of the steel enclosure for the price. As a result, I've bought several more since then and it's become the most common 4U server case out there thanks to its nice value.

Aside from the minor gripes like lack of fan filters and including a low-quality 120mm intake fan (as is largely expected among low-cost computer cases), I'm quite content with the Logisys 4801 in the end. When the need arises for more 4U server enclosures, I'll certainly turn to these low-cost Logisys enclosures again unless another interesting competitor comes along.

This low-cost 4U server chassis can be found for just over $50 USD at Amazon.com.
