Smallpt, another great multi-threaded example, loved the Core i7 990X and was about 20% faster than the Core i7 970 and was twice as fast as the Intel Core i5 2500K.

The HMMer results were just like the other test profiles that scale very well in multi-core environments.

With the NAS Parallel Benchmarks IS.C test from NASA, the Sandy Bridge CPUs faired better than the six-core Gulftowns.
