XDC2012: Lots Of Progress On X, Mesa, Wayland
XDC2012 Nürnberg ended last Friday after three days of vibrant discussions surrounding Mesa, X.Org, Wayland, and other graphics-related discussions for the Linux desktop. Here's a summary of the event that was a great success.
Around 50 X.Org developers met at the SUSE headquarters for this year's annual developers' conference.
Martin Peres of the Nouveau project was there not to talk about the reverse-engineered NVIDIA driver but rather about the X.Org EVoC.
There were two sessions regarding security of the graphics stack. Pictured about is Alan Coopersmith of Oracle talking about some X.Org security on Solaris.
Egbert Eich was the event organizer for XDC2012.
Oliver McFadden was showing off the Dante engine using EGL and GLX.
Eric Anholt and Keith Packard came up with DRI3.
