Examination:

The Raven RV05 fundamentally isn't too different from SilverStone's earlier Rave ATX enclosures in that the primary focus is on a 90-degree motherboard mounting design. However, there's greater space efficiency to this new layout due to getting rid of the 5.25-inch drive bays. SilverStone optimized the layout now for better cooling of CPUs/GPUs while being half the size of the original RV01.

At the top, front of the RV05 are the USB 3.0 ports along with audio jacks. With not having any 5.25-inch drive bays, the plastic front cover is rather basic while running along the side is room for a slim slot-loading optical drive -- if you need an optical drive at all. There's also room towards the front for mounting any liquid cooler radiator, which is fortunately also protected by a fan filter.

Taking up most of the bottom area of the system are the two Air Penetrator fans while along the back side are the 3.5-inch drive bays. The two 2.5-inch HDD/SSD mounting areas are positioned along the back of the motherboard mounting plate.

The RV05 can accommodate up to an SSI-CEB sized motherboard. With the rotated 90 degree motherboard tray, the power supply mount is positioned up along the top, back side of the chassis. The top 120mm fan slot also has enough room to accommodate all-in-one CPU liquid cooling systems.
