On a performance-per-Watt basis, the GTX 1080 was just under ten times more efficient than the old G92 GPU. Compared to the Maxwell cards, the GTX 1080 was 30~40% more power efficient for this particular game.

With the Tesseract game, the GTX 1080 is again 11x more powerful than a 9800GTX.

The performance-per-Watt with Tesseract took a huge leap forward on Pascal. The GTX 1080 was delivering more than 50% the performance-per-Watt of the GTX 980 and 9.3x the performance-per-Watt of the 9800GTX.
