STF Opens Up Maintainer Fellowship Application Process
Last month Germany's Sovereign Tech Fund announced they would be opening a fellowship program for open-source maintainers. The Sovereign Tech Fund (STF) has been providing great investments into open-source projects while this fellowship is around investing in open-source maintainers that may be working on multiple open-source projects. The application process is now open for those interested open-source maintainers.
Now through 20 October the application process is open for the pilot program on this open-source fellowship maintainer. The one-year program is focused on those working to support critical digital infrastructure. For the one year period, the "maintainer in residence" will be employed up to full-time status via the Sovereign Tech Fund. The pilot program will sponsor four freelance contractors at between 6 to 32 hours per week.
Among the maintainership requirements are overseeing at least three FOSS projects and are available through the end of 2025. You also cannot already be receiving other payment for the same work during the duration of the fellowship or applying on behalf of an organization.
