Preparing For The Linux 3.1 Kernel

Linus wrote a message to the Linux kernel mailing list surrounding the 3.0 release and the forthcoming 3.1 developments. The 3.1 merge window is going to be opened during Torvalds' summer holiday, due to the 3.0 release delay. This may result in an extended merge window period, but he's encouraging all developers to submit their pull requests early if possible. Linus will again be diving for his summer holiday.
There's already a slew of new features to be merged for the Linux 3.1 kernel as noted in the previous Phoronix articles.
