AMD Updates Its R500 3D Programming Guide
While at the same time as churning out the R600/700 3D code and beginning to work on the R800 2D/mode-setting code, AMD's open-source developers have released an updated R500 3D programming guide. Early last year AMD released its R500 3D programming documentation and since then they have made updates along with releasing R600/700 3D documentation. This morning though we are greeted by a new update to AMD's R500 3D programming guide.
The version 1.4 update to the ATI R500 (X1000 series) programming guide expands coverage on texture memory layouts, notes on anti-aliasing for lines/polygons/points, and some additional GPU registers were added in too. The announcement regarding this update can be found on the ATI driver mailing list while the NDA-free guide can be found on the X.Org server, but it's no light reading if you're just an end-user.
