KDE Gear 24.08 Brings Many App Enhancements & New Features

KDE Gear 24.08 has been released for this collection of KDE applications that pair with the Plasma desktop.

KDE Gear 24.08 brings a ton of KDE app refinements for users ahead of the autumn Linux distribution releases. Among the many changes to find with KDE Gear 24.08, some of the release highlights include:

- The Dolphin file manager has a variety of usability improvements.

- The Konsole terminal emulator now allows easily bookmarking something within a long output by double-clicking the scroll bar to set a position marker.

- The Kdenlive non-linear video editor has a new keyframe curve editor and other improvements.

- The NeoChat Matrix chat system now allows easily blocking invites from unknown users.

- The Kate 24.08 text editor has enhanced its document formatting plug-in with better support for Bash, D, Fish, Nix config, QML, and YAML files. Kate's Language Server Protocol handling can now handle Gleam, PureScript, and Typst languages.

- Bug fixes and optimizations to the Falkon web browser.
