Texinfo as the GNU typesetting syntax and the project's preferred documentation format is out with a major update.

Notable with GNU Texinfo 7.0 is the texi2any program now supporting documentation output formats of LaTeX and EPUB 3, in addition to the many other formats already supported. EPUB 3 of course being a popular spec for ebooks primarily for e-readers while LaTeX need not any introduction to most Phoronix readers.

GNU Texinfo 7.0 also has improvements to its HTML outputting support, character encoding issues have been resolved, DocBook output enhancements, and a variety of other improvements.
