Clear Linux Already Jumps Onto The Linux 4.7 Kernel

The Linux 4.7 kernel may be just two days old, but already it's being shipped as the default kernel to Intel's Clear Linux operating system.

As is usually the case, Clear Linux was quick to jump to this major update to the Linux kernel that incorporates a number of new features. Clear Linux is also eyeing the recently released X.Org Server 1.18.4.

These package updates were shared as part of today's Clear Linux Highlights #2. As part of these CLR updates over the past week or so, there have also been updates to Ceph, hardware-accelerated GStreamer is now being added to Clear Linux packages, OverlayFS is now used by their non-VM Docker implementation, and numerous other packages were updated for this Intel open-source Linux distribution focused on high performance computing.
