New ARM Board Support In Linux 4.14: Raspberry Pi Zero W, Banana Pi & More
Olof Johansson has submitted the pull requests of ARM/ARM64 board/SoC updates for the Linux 4.14 merge window.
Among the feature work in the ARM hardware space for the Linux 4.14 LTS kernel are:
- Platform support for the TI dra762 family.
- Debug support for the Renesas r8a7743 among other Renesas platform updates.
- New platform/SoC support for the Renesas R-Car D3, TI DT76x, MediaTek mt2712e, Qualcomm IPQ8074, Broadcom Stingray, Marvell Armada 8080, and Unipher PXs3.
- Platform SoC driver registration on NVIDIA Tegra.
- Renesas R-Car R3 support.
- Among the new ARM boards supported are for the Beaglebone X15 Rev C (TI AM57xx), Raspberry Pi Zero W, D-Link DIR-685 router (Gemini-based), Banana Pi R2 (MT7623), Cubietruck Plus, Banana Pi M3/M2M/M64, NanoPi A64, A64-OLinuXino, Pine64, Rockchip RK3328 Pine64/Rock64 support, ZTE ZX296718 PCBOX Board, and others.
- Various other updates and smaller fixes.
Great to see the many additions that made it for this kernel, especially given the number of ARM vendors targeting LTS kernels for their support.
