RADEON
AMD today published the AMDVLK 2022.Q4.4 open-source Vulkan driver that provides Navi 31 GPU support for this week's launch of the Radeon RX 7900 XT / RX 7900 XTX graphics cards.

As noted in the launch day review you can already enjoy Mesa RADV for the Radeon Vulkan driver common among Linux gamers and enthusiasts. Mesa 22.3 or Mesa 23.0-devel Git would be recommended for gamers running the latest games on Steam Play, etc, paired with Linux 6.0 or newer. On the RX 7900 series launch day was also the release of the Radeon Software for Linux 22.40 packaged driver with both the Open and Pro Vulkan driver options. Now there is the new AMDVLK code drop for those wanting to enjoy this official AMD open-source Vulkan driver with the new GPUs.

The only change listed with today's AMDVLK 2022.Q4.4 release is enabling Navi 31 support for the AMD Radeon RX 7900 series graphics cards.

Those wanting to download the AMDVLK release in source form can find the code up on GitHub. Soon I'll be working on a RDNA3 Linux graphics driver comparison between these different driver options.
