Another Intel software package tested that is extensively AVX-512 optimized and more is the Deep Neural Network Library (DNNL / MKL-DNN). Even with this Intel software package, the Threadripper 3990X was either nearly tied to the much more costly Xeon Platinum 8280 2P or outright faster.

The Threadripper 3990X hit 70% faster than the 3970X with Coremark or 3.73x faster than the Core i9 10980XE.

For chess workloads, the Threadripper 3990X performs exceptional.
