With the proprietary V-RAY renderer, the Threadripper 3990X was 67% faster than the Threadripper 3970X and 23% faster than the dual Xeon Platinum 8280 server.

The proprietary IndigoBench wasn't scaling quite as well as the other renderers tested, but still for one scene the 3990X matched the dual Xeon Cascade Lake server and for another scene won by a 5% margin.
