Altair's OpenRadioss software was showing some benefit out of AVX-512.

The AI-driven LeelaChessZero (LC0) chess engine also enjoyed AVX-512 with its Eigen back-end. The AMD Ryzen 7 7700X performance increased by 11% with AVX-512 to the Core i9 11900K going up by 12%.

But with LC0, AVX-512 with the Rocket Lake CPU saw its power consumption shoot up by 23% and the peak power consumption was up by 23% as well. There was no major power difference with the Ryzen 7 7700X which led to a nice performance-per-Watt increase with AVX-512 enabled.

With Intel's own Embree ray-tracing kernel libraries, AMD Zen 4 was able to benefit from AVX-512 much greater than the Core i9 11900K.

While the Core i9 11900K saw little benefit out of AVX-512 for Embree, its power consumption was significantly higher when using AVX-512.
