Intel's OpenVKL volume kernel library benefited a lot from AVX-512 for both the Intel and AMD desktop CPUs.

But in the case of the performance-per-Watt, the AMD Zen 4 processor was in better shape and saw slightly lower power consumption compared to the i9-11900K's big spike in power use.

Intel's OSPRay ray-tracing engine is also well optimized for AVX-512 thanks to its intended Xeon CPU use. Both desktop CPUs benefited from AVX-512 enabled. But again with Rocket Lake it meant measurably higher power consumption.
