For those that may be going for slower memory (or recycling older DDR3 RAM) in an effort to save some money on a low-end system, these results show that for even low-end Intel "Haswell" HD Graphics 4400 there is a great deal of performance that can be gained from going with DDR3-1600MHz (or higher) memory. In current market conditions, DDR3-1600MHz is rather affordable and not really much more expensive than DDR3-1333MHz and slower memory. Generally there were double digit percentage gains in going with the faster DDR3 system memory on this Intel Core i3 4130 system running Xubuntu 13.10 with the Linux 3.12 kernel.
