Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.1 Released, AlmaLinux 9.1 Out Too

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.1 was officially released today as the latest update to this leading enterprise Linux distribution. This afternoon also marked the release already of RHEL-derived AlmaLinux 9.1.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.1 brings PHP 8.1 availability as a supported Application Stream, updated RHEL system roles, extended multi-level security support, offers containerized application performance diagnostics, support for embedding containers into image builder blueprints, and a range of other updates enhancements -- particularly around hybrid cloud and containers. There are also new streams for Ruby 3.1 and Node.js 18 to complement the PHP 8.1 availability while on the compiler side GCC 12, LLVM 14.0.6, and Rust 1.62 are also available.

This afternoon AlmaLinux 9.1 was already released as their completely free rebuild derived from Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.1.
