Team Fortress 2 Linux benchmarking happened at 1920 x 1080 for the 2560 x 1600 resolutions for this NVIDIA GeForce graphics card comparison. First up are the 1920 x 1080 results...

NVIDIA GeForce Source Engine Ubuntu Linux Benchmarks

Of the nine tested graphics cards on Ubuntu 13.10 with the NVIDIA 331.20 latest stable driver release, only the GeForce GTX 550 Ti, GTX 650, and GTX 680 were delivering above 30 or 60 FPS average frame-rates. The GeForce GT 610, GT 520, and GT 240 lower-end graphics cards were notably slow. The GeForce GT 220 strangely came out faster than the GT 240. The big performance oddity for Team Fortress 2 was the GeForce GTX 460 performance being disastrous and the slowest performer!

After seeing the GeForce GTX 460 performing strangely odd, I carried out the tests again after running some other GeForce tests... The GTX 460 was still running at a very slow pace. This is very odd since the GTX 460 Fermi generally performs quite good under Linux. The same software stack and system hardware was used throughout all of this Team Fortress 2 benchmarking. Additionally, the GeForce GTX 460 was running just fine and at its appropriate frame-rates for other Linux OpenGL games/applications on this same software/hardware environment outside of this Source Engine game. There's some weird performance issue going on with this latest TF2/Source revision or the NVIDIA 331.20 driver combination. A few of the other GPUs seemed to deliver lower than expected frame-rates too and unfortunately with Steam we can't revert to older revisions of the game to see where the regression happened and compare them to our older TF2 Linux game benchmark results.
