As of writing the Radeon RX 6400 remains in stock at major Internet retailers with most cards going in the $159 ~ 189 USD price range.

For carrying out this Linux testing the graphics card I purchased was the XFX SPEEDSTER SWFT105 Radeon RX 6400 4GB (RX-64XL4SFG2). I was able to get this card last week after the RX 6400 models began appearing for $169 USD.

The XFX SPEEDSTER Radeon RX 6400 is a low-profile design and does include a low-profile PCIe bracket with the card. There is a single HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 connectors on this graphics card. There is a single, small fan cooling the RX 6400 with this card.

As one can imagine, from a performance perspective there is little to be excited about with the Radeon RX 6400. My main intention was wanting to see that it works well under Linux -- and it does. The Radeon RX 6400 is another "Beige Goby" GPU like the Radeon RX 6500 XT.

AMD's Beige Goby Linux patches have been out there since last May and were mainlined in Linux 5.14 and improved since as well as being in mainline Mesa for a while. Simply put, if running a modern Linux distribution you should be in good shape for having the necessary Linux kernel and Mesa requirements in place. Ideally though the newer Mesa/kernel, the better -- for best feature support and performance, especially when it comes to the continuously improving RADV Vulkan driver.
