As mentioned already, the exterior of the TJ04-E is not very different from the original TJ04. With the updated model they have moved the front panel ports to the top of the chassis in a ramped area, removed the external 3.5-inch drive bays, and made other small refinements, but overall it's not a dramatically different appearance. The front panel is composed of 7mm aluminum with a very beautiful brushed finish.

On the front of the chassis, there are four 5.25-inch drive bays, power and reset switches, LED indicators, and the SilverStone logo. The overall exterior of the case is quite simple yet beautiful. The front-panel USB ports are USB 3.0 with backwards compatibility for USB 2.0. The analog audio jacks are for microphone and headphones. At the top of the chassis is also a vented area with fan cover where there is one 120mm exhaust fan pre-installed and room for a second fan as well.

SilverStone sent over the SST-TJ04B-EW as a sample for review, which has the side panel window. The window is quite large. On the opposite side panel there is a vented area that aligns with the front hard drive bay.

At the back of the chassis the bottom-mounted ATX power supply area is visible, eight expansion slots with slotted covers, a 120mm exhaust fan, the motherboard I/O area, and two pre-cut holes if using water-cooling and having an external radiator.

At the bottom of the case is additional ventilation area with fan/dust covers.
