System Setup:

To test out the SilverStone Fortress FT02 we installed a Tyan Thunder n3600B motherboard, which fit quite well. One of our AMD Shanghai quad-core Opteron processors ended up dieing, so we just used one AMD Opteron 2384 CPU with 4GB of ECC Registered DDR2 memory, a Dynatron server heatsink, a CoolerMaster 1000W power supply, a Seagate 300GB Serial ATA 2.0 hard drive, and an AMD FirePro V8700 graphics card. For being a workstation build the SilverStone Fortress FT02 worked out very well and we have no complaints after setting up all of the hardware. All of the fans operated very quietly and the dampening pads did their job at keeping the overall system running nice and quiet while operating at a low temperature.

Conclusion:

SilverStone has a real winner on its hands with the Fortress FT02. The SilverStone Fortress FT02 is designed very well by incorporating the best traits from their previous high-end cases -- particularly the Temjin TJ07 and Raven RV01 -- while making the body stylish and boasting practically all of the features that a customer could wish for from an ATX / SSI CEB chassis. It would be nice if the Fortress could support an EATX motherboard, but that leaves us something to wish for with the Fortress FT03, which we are sure SilverStone is already working on bringing to the market. This is a top-notch chassis that has become an instant favorite with us and we are sure you will like it too as long as the $240 USD price-tag is not an inhibiting factor. The SilverStone Fortress FT02 (FT02B-W) can be found for $240 USD with free shipping at Amazon.com or about $275 USD (with shipping) at NewEgg.com.
