Our next test was the Bork File Encrypter. Here the Project Indiana release was actually faster than the latest version. It had taken 90 seconds to encrypt the same file when using 2008.05 but over 100 seconds when using 2008.11.

With our first of three Java SciMark tests, the FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) performance was about 44 Mflops faster, which equates to a 10% difference.

The SOR (Successive Over-Relaxation) performance in Java SciMark had dropped just a bit (about 1%) between the OpenSolaris 2008.05 and 2008.11 releases.
