NVIDIA RTX 2060 / 2070 / 2080 SUPER Linux Gaming Performance - 26 GPUs Benchmarked
Total War: Three Kingdoms is one of the newest Linux game ports by Feral Interactive and rendered on Linux using Vulksn. The RTX 2060 SUPER came out to being 13% faster than the RTX 2060 in this 1080p game test and that was enough to position it ahead of the Radeon RX 5700 XT and even Radeon VII with the latest Linux drivers. The RTX 2070 SUPER saw a 9.5% increase in performance over the non-SUPER variant.
With ultra quality settings at 1080p, the Radeon cards as well as the RTX 2060 SUPER dipped below the 60 FPS threshold while the RTX 2070 SUPER was averaging 62 FPS and the RTX 2080 SUPER at 67 FPS for this Vulkan-powered Linux game port.
At 1440p for this Linux game release from earlier in the year, the RTX 2060 SUPER was indeed coming in right above the RX 5700 XT and Radeon VII with the latest drivers from AMD and NVIDIA.
DiRT Rally 2.0 is one of the games running under Linux with Valve's Steam Play for the Wine-based Proton software for running the Windows version of the game and running D3D11 over Vulkan. The AMD Navi cards had issues with DiRT Rally 2.0 with the latest Proton/Mesa while the overall performance is currently lower with the Radeon cards than we have seen in the past -- Radeon VII performing in-line with the RX 590 is pointing towards Mesa driver issues.
