For timed compilation, Debian 9 Testing was the fastest while Clear Linux is the slowest at compilations due to its default CFLAGS/CXXFLAGS.

Fedora 25 secured a win with the C-Ray multi-threaded ray-tracer.

More narrow wins for Clear Linux with the Stockfish and Crafty chess engines.

And toss in MP3 encoding with LAME too.

While openSUSE had a very close win with FFmpeg.
