Moving past the code compilation benchmarks, the Core i9 13900K Raptor Lake benchmark was performing very well in the scripted language performance with PHP and Python -- another traditionally strong area for Intel CPUs.

For PHP and Python scripting performance and these single-threaded benchmarks, the Core i9 13900K was performing great -- out in front and usually with more sizable margins than the narrow build speed wins. In these single-threaded tests the Core i9 13900K power consumption was comparable to the Zen 4 processors.

One of the other developer-minded areas where Raptor Lake improved but wasn't able to match the Ryzen 7000 series was with simdjson for large JSON parsing. Simdjson is able to make use of AVX-512 and is why there is such significant performance uplift with the Ryzen 7000 series processors. The Core i9 13900K performance was better than the i9-12900K with simdjson, but still generally a ways behind the Ryzen 7000 series processors boasting AVX-512. It's also why the Core i9 11900K with AVX-512 is performing so well in these benchmarks.
