Ubuntu vs. Fedora Linux On Lenovo's X1 Carbon With Core i7 Broadwell
Aside from the unexplained faster build times with Fedora 21 over Ubuntu 14.10/15.04 and a slight speed benefit for OpenSSL, the results were effectively in line with expectations. Fedora 21 ran faster than Ubuntu in some graphics tests thanks to it already having a newer Mesa version and the shipping of new kernel versions as stable release updates. Overall, Fedora 21 runs nice with the new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon and I'll have more Fedora-based tests shortly. I continue to be impressed by both the quality of the Fedora 21 release and with this new Broadwell ultrabook.
