There were some small differences in performance between Ubuntu and Linux, but nothing shocking to note when it came to the disk performance.

Fedora 21 is in best shape when it comes to the open-source Intel graphics performance thanks to sending down new kernel and Mesa updates to their stable distribution while Ubuntu is much more conservative with their SRUs.
