Particularly for those using Intel and Radeon graphics, the Mesa 13.0 to 18.2+ upgrade is quite a big out-of-the-box deal... Even for the mature Polaris GPU used during testing, the newer Mesa (as well as newer AMDGPU kernel DRM) means better performance. Debian Buster also has RADV Vulkan support available compared to Mesa 13.

The ParaView workstation software also showing measurable performance improvements.
