Attributed to the success of the Intel Pentium M, the number of computer enthusiasts seeking to use mobile processors in the desktop environment has been increasing as of late. These mobile processors are relatively low cost but more importantly when combined with desktop cooling, these CPUs can often reach very high clock speeds. ASUS had even developed a Pentium M to Pentium 4 adapter, and there have been manufacturers to develop micro ATX motherboards that rely on these mobile processors. Outside of the overclocking incentive, mobile processors have caught momentum in the desktop field due to the low heat output and power consumption of these components, which is ideal for making a silent PC.

SilverStone Technology has realized this movement and is now attempting to capitalize upon this growing segment. SilverStone already has the Sugo, Lascala, and Temjin series of computer cases, but the Milo series takes on the role of being the chassis for next generation MoDT (Mobile on Desktop Technology) systems. SilverStone's Milo series is designed to be compact while offering efficient airflow and to accommodate a wide variety of system components. We have already tried out the SilverStone Milo ML01, and today have our thoughts to share on this unique creation.

While the recently reviewed SilverStone Lascala LC20M was packaged in a colorful and informative container, the Milo ML01 arrived at our doorstep in a relatively plain cardboard package. Similar to the LC20M packaging, the ML01 was positioned in between two large Styrofoam blocks. The case itself was wrapped in a heavy gauge plastic bag. The contents consisted of the MoDT case itself; US power cable, user's manual, and a bag containing the screws and other installation hardware. Also included with the card reader models is a paper containing the USB pin configuration. The ML01 model we had for testing was the SST-ML01B-R. Other models include the SST-ML01S-R, SST-ML01S, and SST-ML01B. These different models are for those possessing a 26-in-1 card reader and for the black and silver exteriors.
