The AMD Catalyst Linux driver is able to handle running the LuxMark OpenCL workload well so at least now it's more of a competition between the AMD Radeon and NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards. With the first OpenCL task, the GTX 750 Ti came up short of the R7 260X but was twice the speed of the GTX 650 and GTX 550 Ti.

In the last two LuxMark OpenCL benchmarks, the GeForce GTX 750 Ti "Maxwell" was competing with the GeForce GTX 760 "Kepler" GPU. The GTX 760 is still retailing for around $250 USD and burning through more power than Maxwell.
