GeForce 700 vs. Radeon Rx 200 Series With The Latest Linux Drivers
With the Xonotic open-source game, the Catalyst Linux driver again appeared somewhat poor with the $400+ Radeon R9 290 graphics card competing with the GeForce GTX 760, NVIDIA's $250 product.
Ever since the Hawaii GPUs launched and I bought the Radeon R9 290, the performance had appeared rather slow compared to the NVIDIA Linux competition. Linux owners of the Radeon R9 290X have also reported similar disappointing OpenGL results under Linux with Catalyst.
