The benchmarking in this article was done from a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 "Fermi" graphics card since it's been well-supported all year compared to the GeForce 600 Kepler support was still coming together early on in the year. Like the AMD 2012 Year-In-Review, Ubuntu 11.10 was used for maintaining X.Org Server and Linux kernel compatibility with the older driver releases.
