SilverStone Lascala LC20M
Conclusion:
It is time yet again to leave another SilverStone review. How did the Lascala LC20M HTPC-oriented chassis fare? Well, we were once again pleased by the package that SilverStone Technology had presented to us. The LC20M was exceptionally well designed and the build quality continued to be top-notch. SilverStone engineers certainly had aesthetics and cooling/noise on their mind when designing this beauty. There was relatively good airflow throughout the chassis, and there is the option of adding additional fans to improve the cooling even further. The LC20M variant is also very functional in the HTPC arena due to its integrated VFD and IR receiver with remote control, which also works great under GNU/Linux. The only real downfall to the chassis is its price -- which is presently going for a bit over $200 USD. The only real design issues with the case is the compatibility problem with longer graphics cards and the hard drive bay (which will be fixed soon), and possibly extending the length of the internal cables would be another bonus. The SilverStone Lascala LC20M isn't leaving Phoronix without our Editor's Choice Award due to its superior craftsmanship and is all-around an excellent package for media-center/HTPC users.
