Lastly is Team Fortress 2.

Yes, finally, a Steam Linux game where the AMD Catalyst Linux performance isn't horrible! For this still rather CPU bottle-necked game, at 4K the Radeon GPUs could compete with the GeForce GPUs and even the R9 290 and R9 Fury came out a few frames ahead! On the NVIDIA side, the GTX 970 and higher were largely bottle-necked by the GPU. All of the graphics cards tested with Team Fortress 2 at 3840 x 2160 were delivering playable frame-rates.

Benchmark Result

The R9 290 and GTX 950 were equal in their cost analysis albeit the GTX 950 costs only $169.

Thanks to being bottle-necked by the CPU, the power efficiency results let the R9 290 Hawaii and R9 Fury Fiji hardware shine for once on SteamOS Linux.
