SilverStone RVS02 SATA Enclosure

As expected, there were not any issues with using the SilverStone RVS02 enclosure with Linux. Ubuntu 11.10 was the Linux distribution used with a variety of kernel releases. The enclosure was recognized as an ASMedia Technology mass storage device with an USB idProduct of 0x55aa.

The SilverStone RVS02 was tested in conjunction with an OCZ Vertex 3 240GB SSD. Below are some benchmarks for reference when running the Phoronix Test Suite with the enclosure on USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 interfaces and when the OCZ SATA 3.0 SSD was connected directly to the motherboard's SATA3 interface without the enclosure.
